Panama-flagged ship collides with fishing boat

The  Panamanian- flagged bulk carrier M/N First Margaux was involved in a collision with a fishing vessel near Singapore’s territorial waters on Sunday, September  20 the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) reported.

Following a telephone communication with the Company’s Security Officer (CSO), the AMP confirmed that the bulk carrier did not suffer structural damage as a result of the impact.

The other vessel involved did suffer structural damage, although it managed to stay afloat and continues sailing under its own power to the next port, where the necessary repairs will be carried out.

AMP highlighted that both crews are in good health and safe, ruling out any personal harm resulting from the incident.

The AMP will continue to monitor the case in strict adherence to international navigation safety regulations, reaffirming its commitment to the protection of human life at sea and the operational safety of the Panamanian fleet.
