Pregnant Palestinian woman killed by Israeli forces

A pregnant Palestinian woman died on Saturday from injuries sustained after being shot in the head by Israeli forces south of Khan Younis, according to her family and medical workers, as strikes across Gaza killed at least 10 people in 48 hours.

The woman, named Iman Shalouf, 27, who was nearly eight months pregnant, was sitting inside her family’s tent in the al-Mawasi area when Israeli gunfire struck her, according to paramedics and witnesses.

‘‘We heard the sound of gunfire while I was praying,’’ Wathfa Abu Mashi, Shalouf’s mother-in-law, said in a video interview with Anadolu. “My daughter asked me, ‘Where is Iman?’ I told her she was in her tent. She went to check on her and found her covered in blood after she was hit by a bullet.
